Ok so I'm fed up with waiting forever for naan, when a lot of my curries are ready in twenty minutes. I don't want the nasty pre bought oven versions, so I've created these 15 minute doughy naan which I think are incredible (i'm biased) !. Definitely not authentic but they're purely my version of the perfect side dish. I really hope you like these!. 🤍hasteskitchen.com

Oil the dough ball, cover it and leave it for at least a half hour, but ideally for several hours. (I suspect additional fermentation will occur over those hours if you use a yogurt with live bacterial cultures.) Knead the dough again right before baking, and divide it into four balls. Get a well-seasoned cast iron skillet heating (medium heat is the right temp on my stove, but you'll have to experiment). Roll out a naan just shy of the thinnest you can make it, top with some grated garlic and chopped cilantro and roll the toppings into the dough. Immediately before baking, flip the dough around and slightly wet the bottom side with water. Press the dough wet-side-down into the hot skillet. If your heat and dough are right, you should have a few bubbles within two minutes, and the edges should be looking dry and cooked. (Another clue I use about when to flip is to smell for the first hint of anything burning.) When you think the first side is cooked, invert the pan over your burner. (The starch paste on the bottom of the dough should make it stick securely to the skillet.) Turn your heat higher and brown the top side of the dough until the bubble peaks are starting to burn, but before the whole top looks cooked — you want much of the surface to still look doughy. (If you have an induction stove, or you just don't want to do the risky pan-inversion maneuver, you can simply flip the naan and cook the top side directly on the pan, but flip it back around before the top looks fully cooked. You want some doughy surface.) Flip the pan back around and take it off the heat. Brush the naan with melted butter and maybe sprinkle on some salt, then use a spatula to scrape the naan out of the pan. Give the pan a quick wash and dry before you bake the next loaf. *YES-YEAST RECIPE, MAKES 4 NAAN* Dough: 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dry yeast 1/2 teaspoon double-acting baking powder 2 tablespoons oil 1/2 cup (100mL) milk or water, plus more as needed 1 tablespoon yogurt (ideally with live cultures) Toppings: grated garlic fresh chopped cilantro melted butter (if using unsalted butter, also top the finished naan with a little more salt) Combine all the dough ingredients and knead — adding additional milk/water as needed — until you have a dough that is soft, springy, and only a little sticky. Oil the dough ball, cover it and let it rise for at least an hour. Knead the dough again right before baking, divide it into four balls, and let them proof for about 15 minutes. If your heat and dough are right, the edges should be looking dry and cooked within two minutes, and the dough should have puffed up a bit though I rarely get large bubbles with the yeast version of this dough. (Another clue I use about when to flip is to smell for the first hint of anything burning.) When you think the first side is cooked, invert the pan over your burner. (The starch paste on the bottom of the dough should make it stick securely to the skillet.) Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel! Naan is the perfect accompaniment to any curry! Here's my easy recipe! 🌟TODAY'S RECIPE: Ingredients For the naan dough: 2 1/2 cups self rising flour to make your own self-rising flour, take 2 cups of all-purpose flour and add 1 teaspoon of baking powder (2:1 ratio) 1 1/2 cups + 2 tsp yogurt Pinch of salt (optional) For garlic butter: 3 tbsp butter, melted 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1 tsp cilantro, finely chopped Pinch of salt Method: - In a large bowl, mix the flour and yogurt together. Knead the dough till it forms a soft ball. Let rest for 5-10 mins. - Divide the dough into 6 balls. - Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough balls on a clean kitchen counter surface with flour sprinkled over it. This dough will make 6 naans. See video for how I rolled them out. - Heat some oil in a nonstick pan (or flat griddle). Cook the naan on one side, once bubbles form, it is time to turn and cook on the other side till you see golden brown color on them. - Remove from pan and serve plain as is. - Mix the cilantro and garlic into the melted butter to make the garlic butter. Brush lightly on the naan if you want to make garlic naan. - Serve hot with your favorite curry dish! 🌟Background Music: httpsmdundo.comsong1364155 🌟LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE 🌟Let's connect! Naan Bread is on the menu in Chef Anna Olson's amazing kitchen, and she is going to teach you how to make this delicious recipe from scratch! Follow along with the recipes below! Subscribe for more video recipes: 🤍 Recipe Naan bread is traditionally baked on the walls of a tandoori oven, but you can easily make this at home, using a cast iron skillet. Once you see how easy it is to make authentic naan from scratch, you’ll never buy pre-made again! Servings: 6 Prep Time: 15 minutes Resting Time: 1 hour Cook Time: 15 minutes Ingredients ¾ cup (180 mL) warm water (just about body temperature) ½ cup (125 mL) plain yogurt (any fat %) 2 Tbsp (60 mL) olive oil or vegetable oil 2 ¼ tsp (1 pkg) 8 g instant yeast 2 ½ cups (375 g) all-purpose flour (plain flour) ½ tsp (2 mL) salt melted butter or ghee, for brushing sea salt and/or chopped fresh coriander, for sprinkling Directions 1. Place the water, yogurt, oil, yeast, 2 ¼ cups (337 g) of the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until it becomes to awkward. Pour the remaining ¼ cup (37 g) of flour on a clean work surface and tip the dough out onto it. Knead the dough for about 3 minutes, turning it and working in all of the remaining flour. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to rise for an hour. 2. Turn the dough out onto a work surface lightly dusted with flour and divide it into 6 pieces. Roll out each piece of dough into a rough circle (precision is not essential here) about 8 or 9-inches (20-23 cm) across. 3. Heat a cast iron or other heavy-bottomed skillet on high heat. Drop in a naan and cook for about 90 seconds, until browned in spots on the bottom. Use tongs to flip the naan over to cook another 90 seconds, until the bubbles blister and turn toasty brown. Brush the naan with melted butter or ghee, sprinkle with salt and/or coriander. Repeat with the remaining pieces of dough. Stacking the naan will keep it warm, or you can hold them in a 300 F (150 C) oven until ready to serve. The naan is best eaten the day it’s cooked. Thank you so much for your support! - Ingredients makes 6 Naan: 120 ml (1/2 cup) Water, warm 13 g (1 tablespoon) White Sugar 3-4 g (1 teaspoon) Active Dry Yeast 270 g (2 + 1/4 cups) All Purpose Flour 65 g (1/4 cup) Plain Unsweetened Yogurt 30 g (3 tbsp) Vegetable Oil (Sunflower Seed) 3 g (1/2 tsp) Salt Ghee or Unsalted Melted Butter for brushing fresh Cilantro (Coriander) on top (optional) Directions: In a big bowl, place Water, Sugar and Yeast: mix until sugar dissolve. Cover and let sit for 10 minutes. Add Flour, Salt, Yogurt, Oil and mix with a spoon until reach a sticky dough. NOTE: you may need 1-3 tbsp more flour (or a little water) depending of your flour. With your hands, knead the dough until less sticky and pulls away from the bowl (it will be very soft and just a little sticky, but not too much). Transfer the dough into a greased big bowl and grease the dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until double in size (about 1-2 hours). When the dough is double in size, heat a pan over high heat: when you will cook the Naan, the pan will be very hot. Punch the dough down, transfer it on a little flour surface, form a ball and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Roll every piece and cover them with plastic wrap to avoid dryness. On a floured surface, take one piece of dough, sprinkle with just a little flour and roll it out to a oval long shape. Place the Naan on the super hot pan: reduce the heat just a little and allow it to cook for about 50 seconds or until on the surface of the Naan will appear big bubbles. Flip it over to cook the other side, increase the heat and press down on the Naan with a spatula: the Naan is done in about 1 minute, when the bottom gets dark brown spots at some places. Naan cooking is fast because of the high heat of the skillet. Remove Naan from skillet, brush generously with ghee or melted butter and sprinkle some fresh Coriander on top. Roll another ball and cook the Naan: repeat until all Naan are cooked. Serve it hot or warm.

This is the easiest, the best recipe for garlic naan I can find. You can make any type of naan with this recipe. Sub the garlic butter at the end for some honey, or perhaps fold in a few caramelized onions to the dough before cooking. So. Darn. Good. #shorts #naan #indian #garlicnaan #garlic #bread #masterchef

Is Naan Bread Healthy? Yes, It's Super Healthy. Make it once and I guarantee you’ll be addicted for life! This is the best naan bread recipe you'll find online! Naan is a type of flat bread. The difference between Naan and Roti/Chapati! They are both flat breads but roti or chapati is made with whole wheat flour and there is no yeast. Whereas Naan is made with all purpose flour and you will need yeast to make the dough. 😊 How to Make Naan Bread? Please refer to the recipe card below for detailed step-by-step method on how to make naan at home: 125 ml warm water (1/2 cup), (~40°C/105°F in temperature). Mix 1 tbsp white sugar with water and 1 tsp yeast in a small bowl. Stir to combine well. Cover with cling wrap, leave for 10 minutes until foamy. Mix 1 egg. Add 2 tbsp of milk and an egg to 30 g (2 tbsp) of melted butter. Stir to combine well. Sift 320 g flour (2 cups) and 1/2 tsp salt into a separate bowl. Add yeast mixture, butter and egg mixture. Start by mixing with a firm rubber spatula. Knead the dough with your hands to make a cohesive dough. The dough should be sticky and soft enough to easily come together into a ball. But it should not be so sticky that the dough sticks to your hands. Cover the bowl with cling-wrap and leave in a warm place for 1 hour. Meanwhile, finely chop a small bunch of parsley. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. My recipe is quick and easy, fail-proof and cooked on a skillet. Cut into 6 equal pieces. Shape into balls. Cover loosely with a lightweight tea towel. Put in a warm place to rise for 15 minutes until they increase in size by about 50%. Pick up a piece and flat it down lightly. Roll out into 3 – 4 mm / 0.12 – 0.16″ thick rounds (about 16 cm / 6.5″ wide). Brush one side with butter. Set over high heat. Place a naan dough in the skillet and cook for 1 minute until the underside is deep golden. Brush the other side with butter. The surface should get bubbly. The faster it cooks, the fluffier your naan will be! After flip, 45 – 60 seconds more. Cook remaining naan. Brush the naan with olive oil. Bon appetit! Sprinkle with parsley and black sesame seeds. Let's make a cheese garlic sauce, with which these flat breads are even more delicious. Finely grate 3 garlic cloves. 5 slices of cheese. Place 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp liquid cream into the skillet. Add sandwich cheese and garlic. 1/2 tsp oregano. Stir over low heat until cheese is soft. Now add 4 tbsp of liquid cream. Stir well. Don't worry, the sauce will thicken a bit as it cools down. Garlic cheese sauce is an optional extra, but it’s so good! #bread

Chicken Doner Kebab with Naan Bread - Easy Recipe - Take Away Classics. Today we will learn how to make a classic chicken donner meat, which is a healthy, low calorie alternative to lamb meat, wrapped in a soft naan bread with take away style sauces (you may be thinking that putting mint into a chilli sauce is strange but if you get just the right amount it gives it that real take away flavour). The recipes used today can be adapted in many different ways for example: Naan Bread - after kneading and letting rise you could add some chopped chilli, or nigella (black onion) seeds, coriander or chopped garlic to make flavoured naans. Grilled Marinated Chicken - use in your favourite curry recipes, chop and serve over rice or served over a mixed salad for a healthy alternative. 🔪 BROWSE MY KITCHENWARE - 🤍 ❤️ SUPPORT THE CHANNEL - 🤍 Today, we are making Xin Jiang style Uighur Naan, which is a flatbread that looks like a pizza without sauce. The edge is thick, and the middle is thinner. It is usually topped with sesame and sometimes onion or other spices. This bread is sold on the street in every city in Xinjiang. 🥢PRINTABLE RECIPE - 🤍 INGREDIENTS (Enough to make 4 big Naan) 1 kg of all-purpose flour 2.5 tsp of salt 2 tbsp of sugar 2 whole egg 1 pack of instant yeast 120 g of vegetable oil 440 grams of milk 1/4 of red onion, finely diced 2-3 tbsp of oil to saute the onion 2 tbsp of sesame seeds 1.5 tbsp of milk to soak the sesame seeds 1 tsp of salt 1 cup of water In a mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients: 1kg of all-purpose flour, 2.5 tsp of salt, 2 tbsp of sugar, 2 whole egg, 1 pack of instant yeast (7g), 120 grams of vegetable oil, and 440 grams of milk. Use your spatula to mix everything. Knead it by hand (8-10 minutes) or a stand mixer (10-12 minutes) until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover it the dough with a lightly damp towel and let it proof at room temperature for 1 hour. 1 hour later, it should be doubled in volume. Make a fist and punch the dough for a minute to eliminate the air bubbles that are formed from the expanding carbon dioxide during the proofing. Continue to knead it for another 5 minutes or until most of the air pockets are gone. This can also be done with the Kitchenaid. You just let it run on low speed for about 5 minutes. Divide the dough. You can eyeball how much dough you want to use as this depends on your tool's size and how big/thick you want your naan to be. I am just going to go with 4 huge ones. Shape each dough into a smooth ball. Cover with a lightly damp towel, and let the dough rest for 15 minutes. Saute 1/4 cup of chop red onion with 2-3 tbsp of vegetable oil until fragrance. Soak 2 tbsp of sesame seeds with 1.5 tbsp of milk for 10 minutes. Dissolve 1 tsp of salt into 1 cup of water. Put the pizza stone or cast-iron skillet into the oven and preheat the oven to 500 F. Use a clean and lightly damp cloth to wrap a strainer tool. 15 minutes later, roll the dough with a rolling pin until the diameter reach about 10 inches. Form the edge to make it thicker. Use your knuckles to press the middle to make it thinner. At the same time, if you see that the edge is becoming a bit flat, you can always form it again. Apply the sauteed onion or soaked sesames onto the naan. Use the tip of fingers to keep pressing the bread. It will help the onion bits or sesame seeds to attach to the bread. Stamp the bread by using a Naan Zhen or a fork. Flip the naan on the cloth wrapped strainer. Onion side down. Wet your hand with the salt solution and apply it to the naan. This will ensure the naan sticks to the pizza stone and create a crusty bottom. Quickly open the oven. Stick the naan in and carefully flip it on the pizza stone. Press the center a few times to make sure the bottom sticks to the pizza stone fully. Otherwise, the center will bulge quickly, and your bread will not come out crispy. Put in the other piece of naan. Quickly spray some water and close the oven. Each naan takes about 10-15 minutes depends on your oven. If this is first time you are making naan in your oven, be sure to keep an eye on them. In my case, I already know it will take about 12 minutes. Enjoy!
